Fat Cow hosting has one of the most comprehensive feature sets that I have ever seen! They even throw in 2GB of desktop backup provided by Carbonite.
Another great feature they include is their newly revamped website builder. It’s now powered by weebly. Making building your own website as simple as dragging and dropping.
The control panel is impressive. It’s easy to use and organized well.

Performance

Our test concluded that most of the time page loads were average. Not the fastest we’ve ever tested but nowhere near the slowest.

Reliability And Security

With fatcow hosting you don’t have to worry about your site disappearing. They put your site on 2 servers. If one goes down the other will pick up. If both of those servers goes down, they have an additional backup!
Our tests showed an up-time of 99.89%. Now that’s what I call reliable!
Customer Support
Fat Cow has a great customer support team. It took us about 40 seconds to get a live person on the line. That person also spoke English well and he was very knowledgeable.
Their live chat wasn’t that impressive though. Responses were a little slow and the person on the other end seemed like he/she was searching for answers. I did eventually get my questions answered.
Overall our experience was a positive one with fatcow hosting customer service staff.

At first glance, Fatcow looks like a bargain. So, after some research, I signed up. But when I went to test my site I found that they do not allow external connections to your database, my .htaccess file was not allowed by Apache and they don’t have Cron job support!!
I guess they’re OK for a very straightforward and simple site… maybe a build-your-own. But not allowing Cron jobs? That’s a very common requirement!
I hate fatcow hosting! the price isnt that bad but my site would run slow. Really slow! When I try to cancel my account they told me I cant transfer the domain i got with them! In other words they hijacked my domain! Heres a tip for anyone getting hosting for the first time, get your domains separate from your hosting because the hosting company will only steel your domain name!
I am really confused in which company i will host my site. So i asked my friends they gave me the option for fat cow hosting. Now am really happy while working with them.
I wish I had read this review before I signed up with fatcow. Don’t get me wrong, fatcow hosting is pretty decent. The only issue I have with them is, they have no cron jobs. This is especially a problem for me because I wanted to use an auto blog plugin which requires cron. Oh well…
I’ve been with FatCow hosting for about 2 years now. Overall it’s a good hosting company. In the past 2 years I think my site was down once for only a few hours. At times my site does get a little slow but its not that bad. Support is usually helpful, no complaints. I would recommend FatCow hosting to anyone looking for a low priced reliable hosting company.
